
I’m Emmi Emilia—welcome to my evergreen space, where nature leads the way and I report my findings to you. I cook at home, at my friends’ houses, and at my mom’s. I started this project because I also wanted to cook with you. I find plants, natural light, fresh, and grounding flavours beautiful. Food equals togetherness, shared passion and meals: memories made, gentle intervention and activism. The growing hum around the steady movement makes my heart pitter-patter—we are truly making a difference in the world. Within these years of being Vegan, I have witnessed my health and life shift, and now the woman who looks back at me in the mirror is alive like never before.
How It Started
After years of living abroad, I was in dire need of transformation. I realised I had been longing for safety, love, and connection with my roots longer than what was good for me and that showed up as physical and mental challenges. Even though I felt accomplished after leading an incredible, adventurous, challenging, yet rewarding life, I felt somehow fragmented inside; it was time for a review and reform. Before things got better, they got worse. I had to get close and comfortable with the void that became the base for my awakening.
One specific moment made me turn my life around- I was sitting at the dinner table with my family. It was Christmas Eve, ever so cosy and beautiful. The dinner was set, and the candlelit table overflowed with various traditional treats. I didn’t know why, but I couldn’t stomach it. Something was different. I felt a whisper in my mind: You should do it for you, it said. You should! That was it for me. There was no drama, no reason other than to become a more compassionate and better version of myself. It started as a personal gig at first, but soon it became a mission.

About the Blog
My appreciation for nature, all life, and memorable food is the foundation for the philosophy that is the backbone of Sultry Vegan. I believe that choosing compassion and plant life is a form of self-expression and a language to connect with the surrounding world in a grounding and sustainable way. Consequently, seeing my special hobby become a purpose is truly inspiring. The blog consists of my insights, recipes and art in the shape of photographs.

How I cook
My recipes are always vegan; I prefer fresh and local produce when possible. Sometimes I feel like baking a storm or pampering my loved ones. Some dishes are adaptations from childhood favourites, or are born to please crowds. A balanced, whole foods, somewhat raw diet keeps me happy, especially during spring and summer. Everyone’s experience is unique, and I firmly believe in trying different things out to find the optimal choices for you, and having a relaxed approach to food will lead to better well-being and joy in everyday life. I love to turn leftovers and sad-looking forgotten veggies from the back of the fridge into treats. The great pleasure lies in the simplest things, would you agree?


I’m a rather spontaneous cook; in other words, it’s almost impossible for me to follow recipes, even my own. Therefore, I suggest you also have fun with it in your kitchen. While flavour and nutrition are key, the aesthetics and effort we invest in food can significantly boost the experience. Eating becomes a practical way to add quality to our lives when we cook with intention and joy. To me, food is an act of self-care and a direct way to take a stand against animal cruelty.
Something that started as an experiment has become one of my life’s core elements: plants changed my value system and behaviour as a consumer and a human being. Choosing veganism has led me onward on my spiritual path, regained my health, and shifted the overall balance of my life. I am confident that if this lifestyle has helped me reinvent myself, there are tremendous benefits to explore for everyone.
